You push it back
The horrible memories
Telling yourself nothing is true
Burying it with happier thoughts
An unmarked grave
Soon no trace of it is left
A perfect patch of new grass
You wander your mind
With no idea what is there
All thoughts and memories
Some you don't remember
The ones you buried
Weren't dead
And so begin to creep back out
Wanting revenge for being buried
When they come out
You don't recognize them
Have no idea they existed
How you are involved
But then it begins to resurface
The pain you endured
The horrible scenes
Torturing your mind
Toying with your soul
Clenching your heart
In its forgotten hands
